Hi Joyce :)

The 1851 census gives Daniel's birthplace as Hensingham (where he was living in 1851).

The IGI has no Hensingham baptisms before 1811 I'm afraid. :(
Don't cry because its over. Smile because it happened.

registration didn't begin until Jul/Aug/Sept qtr 1837 (and even then it wasn't compulsory) so if you are looking for a birth c. 1791 you are going to have to rely on baptism records

The IGI is not complete - you will need to ask if anyone can do a look up in parish registers

you can put a request on here - someone may hav access to parish registers

There is a marriage IGI -extracted -don't know if you have seen that
Daniel Todd
Mary barnes
St James Whitehaven Cumberland
8 dec 1810

the marriage register may give more details of parents - sometimes they do -often they don't

Hope that helps

There won't be a marriage cert - just an entry in the church register - which may have more detail -but often there are only the bride and groom's names

There are no birth/marriage/death certificates availale before registration was introduced -which was Sept qtr 1837 - and even then it wasn't compulsory
