Bond family
« on: Friday 13 March 09 19:18 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I'm a new member and am looking for information re various members of my family:
- Arthur Louis Bond born 1887 and his daughter Agnes Louisa born 1910 - both died in 1941, probably in Dollis Hill, N London.  I was told they were killed by the same bomb, and would like to confirm their dates of death.  In case it helps, Arthur's wife was Agnes Manning.
- * Innes born * Middlesex *.  I am trying to any information at all, as I can't confirm whether she is dead or alive.
- Charles Innes (*a's father) born c1911 and married to Cecilia Rosemary Bond 6/12/1934.  As previous.
If anyone can help, I will be very grateful.  I just hope I've posted this in the right place and right way, as I'm finding navigating around the site a little confusing.

Welcome to RootsChat Jenny  :)

This death for Agnes Louis(a/e) seems to suggest that Arthur was already dead when she died

Hi Jenny - welcome from me too

You may already have this, but the registration details of the Innes/Bond marriage are as follows:

Dec qtr 1934

Charles INNES
Cecilia R.M. BOND

Edmonton 3a 1759

If you're looking for background on them, you can obtain details of their fathers' names and occupations by purchasing the marriage certificate.

Hi,
Now that I've discovered from Tati that Agnes Louise Bond died on 13 February 1941, listed as civilian war dead, I am anxious to discover the date of death of her father, Arthur Louis Bond.  He is described as "late" on her CWGC certificate, and he died in 1941, which would mean between 1 January and 12 February.  I could not find him on the CWGC site.  His address at death was Dollis Road, very close to Hendon Cemetery.  If anyone can help, I will be very grateful.
Also, am I using the best forum?  I'm in England - General - would I be better off in London - Middlesex?
Jenny

You're OK here - I couldn't see him on the CWGC site either, so the only thing we can do is look him up in the GRO index (but it wouldn't give his exact date of death, you'd have to order the certificate to find out).

What year was he born?  :)

If he died in the same district as Agnes (i.e. Hendon) then this is the only candidate in that quarter:

Deaths, Mar qtr 1941

Arthur BOND aged 64, Hendon 3a 1257

and also

Agnes L. BOND aged 30, Hendon 3a 1138

Snap, Anna.

There's an Arthur L in the previous quarter but he seems too old (I had a look at 1911 and it shows Arthur born ca. 1875). I'm wondering if he was Arthur Louis at all - he married as plain Arthur and was plain Arthur in 1911 as well (whereas the children's middle names are shown. His son sure was Arthur Louis)

So - seems he died in fact a little later than Agnes, if the page number is higher?
