1860 Marriage Monmouth Query ?
« on: Sunday 15 March 09 15:19 GMT (UK) »
Hello folks,

I have some interest in finding a 1860 marriage between Richard Warner & Elizabeth Minchin ...Monmouth 11A 70...

My question is am I better served applying for a copy from the GRO or is it better to apply to Monmouth record office...are the copies from Monmouth hand written OR typed ? Also what actually  IS the address for Monmouth record office please ???

Thanks, Margaret ( from darkest Midlands of England )

I'm not sure that the record office will supply you a copy of a parish marriage for this period. In any case, you'd need to know which place of worship they married in for them to find it.

Records from Monmouth registration district are now split between several registrars

Thank you Osprey for your input...as I have no idea of place or church for this marriage it looks like as if the GRO is my best option.

Thanks again,
Margaret.

It's quite often the easiest way. I checked the Forest of Dean site in case the marriage was Coleford area but no sign.
