John Quince born c1845
« on: Friday 20 March 09 12:37 GMT (UK) »
Any help would be much appreciated.

I am looking for the birth/baptism of a John Quince who according to the 1871 census in Marylebone he was born c1845 in Huntingdonshire.
Just before the 1871 census he marries Ann Jane Richardson in Marylebone. His father according to the cert is William Quince, groom. I can't find any matches pre 1871.

By 1881 Ann Jane is with a Frank Hall as his wife, but I only recently discovered that Ann and Frank didn't marry until 1909, then she was classed as a widow.

After 1871 I have lost sight of John Quince, have no idea what happened to him, he seems to have disappeared completely. Maybe Ann waited until she was sure he was dead before marrying so many years after.

Thanks.
 :)

1841
HO107 455 1
High Street Huntingdon

William Quince 25 Hostler
Hannah 23
Elizabeth 13
Ann 2
William 1

Looks like this is your John Quince's dad - must have died before 1847 when Hannah remarried.
Looks like he was possibly the Inn Keeper/hostler/publican and Hannah remained there and moved new (younger) husband in.

There are deaths for William Quince in Huntingdon in both:

Ap/May/Jun 1845 ref 14 130

and

Oct/Nov/Dec 1847 ref 14 133

I guess the second is John's dad
