Thomas West/Mary Pottar Scotland

Hi,
I'm stuck and would be grateful of any advice!

I'm back to Thomas West and Mary Pottar who married 8/7/1748 in Cramond, Midlothian and have their son James born 10/8/1750.

I've searched for their births but with Mary Pottar I can't find anything with that spelling and have 3 possibles for Mary Potter - 14/3/1718 Cramond, 19/10/1718 and 17/7/1726 Inveresk with Musselburgh. As all 3 could be possibilites as they are all Midlothian should I assume the the one in Cramond is the one I'm looking for? How can I be sure I've got the right person?
With Thomas West I can't really find anything on his birth that would tie in with the marriage date, the only one I found was born in 1734!
