;D  Hi Daisy...  for as long as you have a baby-sitter for....
I always (without fail) think of something else I could of looked for....  :P  :P

The Kew NA needs a full day. You really do need to know what you want to find and get the ref nos first. You have to input the numbers into a puta, when you get there. With your reader number.
BTW  :o  Have you got that  :o ........ you can register online....  :P

No, haven't got that yet...thought I'd do that nearer the time.  Think I'll be heading to TNA with a fellow RC'er, who's been there before :)

yeah, I'd thought a day at TNA alright, amd thinking 2 days for Bucks...as not only do I want to wallow in papers, I'd like to drive round some of the villages too...you've given me so much there...ideas I wouldn't have thought of looking for...on that A2A page (first link)...I mean, even if papers don't hold my ancestors names, they still give an idea of what life was really like back then...

Much appreciated!

  Hi

The staff in the records office are really helpful in Aylesbury so organise what you want in order of priority before you go .  Kent to Aylesbury is a real hike so check out a travel lodge in the area.
What date do you have in mind? Bucksfhs  is having it's open day on 25 July in Aylesbury. Loads of societies go to that and searches can be made on Bucks parishes by the team there.
4 July Grendon Underwood are having a BBQ & fete in aid of the church....good day to meet people there.

Milton Keynes yes great my local ....... Carol how do you get time to shop whilst there?  ;D

I'd actually gone there TO shop, but offered to go to the library for someone in Oz.
She has ancestors in Wavendon and I was able to go back through the records for her really quickly  ;D

Hi,

If you want to go through Parish Records at Aylesbury you need to phone and book a film reader.

If you want to look at wills etc - you need to book a place in this room as well.  It is worth booking as the place can get quite busy.  Have you browsed their list of wills that is online?

The staff are very helpful.

Thanks for the suggestions Tazzie & Peony, sorry I didn't reply early, must have missed the notifications!

Peony, I didn't know they had a list of wills online...don't suppose you have a link to that do you?

Hi

http://apps.buckscc.gov.uk/eforms/wills/search.aspx

Scroll down half a page and enter in the surname you are looking for.  If you are interested in any, email the archives and for a cost (I think it is £3.50) they will photocopy the will.
