Richard RICKARD 1702-1703 St. Columb Minor
« on: Saturday 28 March 09 05:47 GMT (UK) »
John and Dorothy Rickard’s fourth child was Richard Rickard who was christened at St. Columb Minor on 22 December 1702.   I am led to believe that he did not live very long as their fifth child was also named Richard (born some time in 1703).   Are we able to ascertain any details concerning the death of the first Richard and the christening of the second.   Also from your records did the second Richard marry?

From around 1700 to around 1850 I have found a number of cases where a child has died young and the next born takes on his or her first name.

Regards and Thank you for your efforts ;)
