This seems to be Winifred's birth - is this right?

Birth

March quarter 1909

Winifred Nora(h) SHEPPARD
Melksham Vol 5a Page 106

What information do you already have and what are you looking for?  Have you found them in 1911 census yet?

The marriage isn't obvious - have you got a date or the certificate?  When was their first child born?

Kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

Hi all,

Not sure if this is any use but the 1911 census seems to show 'Nettie' as Ellen Sarah, born ca. 1882

There's a marriage:

Jun 1903 Melksham  5a 248
George Sheppard to possibly Ellen Sarah Holcombe

Assuming and this is assuming George Sheppard came from Melksham it is possible on the CWGC website this is his details

33206 Private - Duke of Edinburgh Wiltshire Regiment 2nd Bn died 14 4 1917

http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=91689

Memorial at WARLINCOURT HALTE BRITISH CEMETERY, SAULTY France

On UK soldiers who died in the Great War records

George Sheppard
born Melksham Wilts
residence Warminster Wilts
Died of wounds

This information is not proven - just a best guess - more work would need doing to prove it.

All the best

Having trouble identifying Ellen Sarah for now but this should be George

1891
RG12/1602 35 20
Melksham, Wiltshire
(can't read address)
4 rooms occupied

Henry Sheppard, head, wid, 47, Labourer (Engineers), b. Lugershall
Alice, dau, 16, Housekeeper, b. Melksham
Charles, son, 14, labourer (Engineers), b. do.
Albert, son, 10, scholar, b. do.
George, son, 8, scholar, b. do.

You'll find them as SHEPHERD in 1881 - the 1881 census is free to search at www.familysearch.org or www.ancestry.co.uk
