Trying to find an aunt
« on: Sunday 29 March 09 00:22 GMT (UK) »
My grandfather started life as Gershon Braun in Poland/Russia, on arriving in England he became George Brown, when my grandma died in 1936, he moved to Wellingborough where he lodged with and eventually married a Elsie May Sharp. He was a journeyman Tailor and a Jew.
My parents parted when I was a baby and I never met my father till later in my life and never met his parents. I believe Gershon and Elsie had a child we think and I would love to find my "aunt"
They lived in Abbey Rd or Street,Wellingborough. how do you find a girl who I think may have been called Jill surname Brown, born sometime after 1937???? He died in 1964 aged 85. His Jewish cousins took him back to Hull where he is buried.
I realise this is a long shot but somebody might just know them.
The census I found showed living with Elsie was  William, Sarah and  Donald prior to Gershon moving in, one could have been husband but I  believe one son was a policeman.
Any help would be great.
