Lost BLEWETT boys in S.A.
« on: Sunday 29 March 09 12:34 BST (UK) »
Hi, I'm hoping somebody can help me find some lost boys (well lost to me)! I have John BLEWETT age 9 & George Crase BLEWETT age 3 (possibly under stepfather's surname CARPENTER) arrived from Cornwall June 1856 at Port Adelaide, S.A. on the Gomelza. I know the parents went to the minefields in & around Moonta. I cannot find what happened to the boys, can SKP help please? Emsey.

Emsey could I please have the boys' father's name.  May be able to identify them in the marriage indexes.

The family on the Gomelza with the boys under CARPENTER

I am assuming that Elizabeth CRASE is the boys' mother.  There are 12 births to William CARPENTER and Elizabeth in the indexes.  I assume you have all this information.

Hi, yes I do, only 2 survived. I didn't even know these boys existed until somebody on rootschat found a previous marriage.

Just had a look at your website and see you have this info.  I will have a trawl through the SA indexes tomorrow for you...bit late for me now.

Cheers

Hi Kris, yes, that's it & aren't I grateful that was found for me! Since then I have purchased both the marriage certs to both Blewett & Carpenter & at last have been able to find the Carpenter line which is simply wonderful, thank you, cheers Emsey.
