Passenger from USA to UK
« on: Monday 30 March 09 16:18 BST (UK) »
Hi All

I wonder if anyone can look & see if my great great uncle William Doel possible returned to the UK from USA (poss New York) anytime between 1913 & 1920 PLease. Someone kindly looked for him from 1920 to 1923 but I'm wondering if he came back earlier.

This is what I have. He was born Salisbury 1885 though could be a little lax about his age. He had used 1886/7. He lived in Pittsburgh wilst in the States & was married. He'd be travelling to London (or possibly Hampshire). His profession was chauffer (though he could be a butler).

In 1920 his son was born. His son was told he left when he was about a year old, but it clearly gives his father's address of England on his birth certificate.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Regards Suzanne

Incoming passenger list has 23 entries for a William Doel but none have that birthyear.  1868 is the oldest and it then jumps to the mid 1890's

Did he have any middle christian name
Census Information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk
Carlin (Ireland & Liverpool) Doughty & Wright (Liverpool) Dick & Park (Scotland & Liverpool)

Hi

No middle name I'm afraid. It's all a bit of a mystery.
