Holland/Thurley
« on: Tuesday 31 March 09 19:13 BST (UK) »
Hi all

I have been trying to establish whether a James Holland born in about 1773 in Bassingbourne Cambridgeshire married an Alice Thurley born about 1775 in Bassingbourne. Alice's parents are claimed to be Thomas Thurley and Ann Trustram but I cannot find a duaghter of that name - only Ann Thurley. (Ancestry members) They are supposed to have got married on 13th October 1802.

Would somebody be so kind as to blow this out of the water or verify it for me please?

Thank you

Tim

Hi,
From Bassingbourn parish registers transcripts
James Holland, widower, of the parish, married Alice Thurley, Spinster, otp
8 Oct 1802,
Wit James Jacklin
There is no baptism for Alice, only Ann.

Tempsford.
Post crossed with David's. In the transcripts the marriage is given as 8 Oct but it comes between 13 and 14 oct, so possibly an error in transcription.
