Can you tell me where I can view the 1922 Electoral Roll for South Croxton, Leicestershire? Is there an on-line version?

I think I am correct in saying that the bad news about Electoral rolls is that they are organised by street adddress not by surname.  So if you don't know the people's address you've had it ... I have some like that.
I don't know of any online that are searchable but maybe someone lelse will have an answer to that- good news to us both. .

I'll follow this with interest as I'd love to have 1950s Beds Electoral Rolls access.

Thanks for your response. I hadn't thought how the electoral roll would be laid out but in view of what you've said and thinking about it now, I know from my role as polling officer that the electoral register we use is in street order.

In this case, that's not a particular problem because although I'm not certain where Sidney lived in the village, South Croxton comprises only four streets now and in the 1920s would have had slightly fewer houses so it won't be a huge task to search through.

I'd prefer an on-line version if there is one for ease of access. I guess a paper copy is likely to be held somewhere in Leicester which will require a visit.

The records office for Leicestershire is in Wigston Magna. Full of very helpful staff. I am new to this group and also a Leicester girl

Kelly's directories are often very helpful too.

They are in both street and surname oder and held at most libraries as well as county record offices.

Sometimes if you email them they will do a quick electoral roll look up for free.
