Power's of waterford and Dillon family of Cloughjordan Ireland
« on: Thursday 02 April 09 16:13 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone, hope you are well?

I have hit a brick wall when looking for my Irish Ancestors, can anyone recommend the best site for Irish Genealogy? Looking for information on the following -

Maggie Power (Margaret Mary power ) b. 1885 d. 1961 married Albert George Skinner in Southwark London in 1906. All we know is that her father was called Michael James Power and he was a Lighthouse Keeper in Waterford Ireland.

James Dillon b. 1912 d. 1976 born n Cloughjordan Tipperary, joined the RAF during World War 2 and married and settled Ipswich Suffolk. All we know is his father was called Michael John Dillon.

If anyone can help that would be fab!  :)

I don't normally use the Irish board,I cant find a birth for Margaret on the I.G.I,was she born in Ireland or England,I tried both. Have  you got Margaret on the
1901 1891 Census if not you can request a lookup. Then work back from there.

The reason Celia couldn't find Margaret's birth in IGI is because IGI has many, not all, Irish births 1864-1882 and very few later ones.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
