Thomas Dwyer
« on: Friday 03 April 09 23:45 BST (UK) »
hi I'm trying to trace my wifes greatgrandfather Thomas Dwyer born circa 1867 and his wife Mary born circa 1863.
They had a son Joseph born in 1887 in Ireland and then their next child was Francis born in 1889 in England.
My wife says she was always told that the Dwyers came from Cork, so if anyone can help me it would be much appreciated.

thanks
Dave McSorley

Welcome to Rootschat. Even with the name of a county it will be difficult to search Irish records but have you searched for the family in 1891, 1901 and newly released 1911 census in England to see if a county is listed? Many people seem to be finding more birthplace details on 1911 census (now only pay per view).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thanks for the info.
I've found them on the 1891 and 1901 census but it only mentions Ireland and not the County.
I'll try the 1911 census and hope it gives more details.
