Loss of Boston pilots 1901

anybody help please, three boston pilots were lost in 1901 .they were Thomas Shepherd,George Taylor Dawson and Thomas Flynn. All from the Boston areaThomas Shepherd was my great grandfather .I know he died but that is all,were the bodies recovered? where were they burried?

Hi podgypipes, welcome to RootsChat :)

The incident gets two mentions in the Times, the first on April 5 saying that they were missing feared drowned "SUPPOSED LOSS OF THREE PILOTS" and the second (3 days later) that their boat had been found and "it is now regarded as certain that the three men lost their lives".
Don't cry because its over. Smile because it happened.

thanks Geoffe,now we have a date which is a start. he had a baby daughter died the same year she was called Frances Hilda about 6 monyhs old.they were hard times.
