Rachel Bailey

I have been trying to research Rachel Bailey, B 1700's , is this to early to find any info? I have a little info, Rachel Married Philip Beecroft, he was born around 1743 so if she was born around the same age guess she was born in 1740's/50's Trying to research Philip also though and so far have drawn blanks. Apparently Rachel was born in Leek, Stafforshire but what year I cant say. They had to my knowledge 3 children, one being a son named philip also, so gets slightly confusing when searching Philip Beecroft Would be gratefull if anyone could help or point me in the right direction to research these early years. Many thanks for any info.

There's not much information available for those years Baggsy, not unless your family were rich Land Owners or part of the Aristocracy.  There are Hearth Taxes for some time in the 1600's and Wills if your lucky.  Even the Parish Register's don't give much more than a name and a date.  I wouldn't think that many of us get further back than the 1700's, I haven't, the records run out.  As I said if they were Yeoman or Land Owners there maybe some old documents on the National Archives site, or you could look for Poor Law Settlements if you know the Parish.  You have done well to get back that far.  Best Wishes from Linell.

Thankyou for your help! Yes to have it back to 6 Generations is an achievement, but once you have the "bit between your teeth" so to speak, it's hard  not to want to go further.Their Occupation an their parents names.etc.!! as far as I know they were not land owners or rich..!! ;) unfortunately.
It has been confusing at times though as the Name Rachel and Philip have carried through the Generations, in fact "son Philip" Beecroft, called one of his daughters---Rachel Bailey Beecroft---as other generations did through the years.  :P but very enjoyable nether the less!
