COMPLETED THANKS - Baptism of John VEAL c1819 Claxby Pluckacre ?
« on: Sunday 19 April 09 10:55 BST (UK) »
Good morning,

I Would be grateful for any help with trying to trace the birth or baptism of John VEAL (Ag. Lab), who - according to the Census returns - was born in Claxby Pluckacre c1819. IGI don't appear to have him recorded. Perhaps someone might have access to PR's ?

He married Susan ELSOM in 4thQ 1840 (Spilsby 14. 977) and they had about 10 children born in either Friskney or East Kirkby between 1841 and 1864.

Susan ELSOM was born in Stickford in 1819, daughter of William ELSOM & Letitia DAVY.

Many thanks,

Nick

Also see Genuki http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LIN/ClaxbyPluckacre/

    * The church fell down on 1 August 1748 and was not rebuilt.
    * See Moorby parish for parish registers. Register entries start in 1561.

Which leads to one of the FreeREG baptisms :) then you will find parents' marriage in IGI.
Don't cry because its over. Smile because it happened.

Good morning,

Thank you both for those very useful tips. The Freereg site looks very useful and I think I've just found the answer to my own question !

Your time and advice much appreciated.
