Chichester records office
« on: Tuesday 21 April 09 13:23 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Is anyone going to the above RO? I am looking for a baptism in Easebourne parish church or a birth record from Midhurst workhouse.

In return, I'm more than willing to do some look-ups at the Wiltshire RO.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Paula

Hi Paula

If you post the details I'll see what I can do - hopefully I will be able to pop in there tomorrow.

Hi Jan,

OK, where to start..........

Frances Ellen Bicknell, born 13/18 Dec 1908. Accordng to the 1911 census she was born in Easebourne. I believe she was the illeg. daughter of Ellen Florance Bicknell, but the 1911 cenus gives her name as Carpenter, along with an older brother. Her brother was definately registered as Bicknell.

So, I guess I'm looking for a female Bicknell, dau of Ellen either in Easebourne parish church or on the register of births at Midhurst workhouse.

Her birth registrationhas proven to be illusive so far.

Please let me know about anything you need from Wilts RO.

Many, many thanks
Paula

Hi Paula

I wasn't able to find anything out about your Frances Ellen - the fiches only go up to 1900 and no transcripts as late as 1908 either. I will keep details in my book for when I have more time, but this probably won't be till late June.
