Hi, Am in desperate need of help! I am trying to track down my great grandmother's side of family and as usual is proving tricky!! My grandmother's name was Ellen (known as Nellie) Lois Louisa Street I have found her birth in 1897 in Aston.[Incidently, My mother however said that she claimed she was born in Ireland to a wealthy man & that her mother had remarried a man who had lost all her money- hmmmm! ]. Her father is down on her marriage certificate as James Street (he was supposedly irish) and a canter. However the only Ellen street I can find in 1901 is this one: who's father was Henry
J Street & was a bus conductor from Leamington!!!
Personally I suspect that this is the one and that my great grandmother was a big fat liar! So I am trying to track the family back. Unfortunately, the fact that Nellie's mother remarried seems to be true so I cannot track down her marriage to Henry James as I don't know if her name would have been Hayes (her first married name? ) or something else.
Anyway, waffle, waffle, any help would be greatly appreciated in trying to unravel this- have included the detail from the 1901 census.... Nicolette
