I have the following information from the headstone, at Lochmaben.

years. Also Jannet Sandert his spouse who died May 4th 1767 aged 75 years.
Also Thomas, Robert and Elizabeth, Thomas and James all children to George
Kerr joiner in Rosebank. Also George son of the above who died 20th
December, 1808 aged 72 years. Also Christina Burgess his spouse who died at
Lochmaben 19th December, 1819 aged 77 years.

My line is from George of Rosebank and his daughter Janet.

Jamjar,
I have friends from Pennsylvania who believe they are descended from the Rosebank Kerr's, I took them there a few years ago to pay a visit, the place is gone now, but there are two old ladies from Lockerby who worked in the house as young girls, I spoke to them too about the family.

The US family have a lot of information about the Rosebank Kerr who went to Ohio and Pennsylvania.

We searched the Lochmaben graveyard and found many flat stones below the turf belonging to Kerr's. I have photos of them somewhere.

James Kerr.

Lovely music James.

May I ask how you fit into my Kerr tree?

No Mrs, just Jamjar. It was a nickname given to me by an aunt, when I was a young chicken.

Jamjar,
I tried, along with the Yanks, to make a connection to the Rosebank Kerr's, but failed. My earliest ancestor I can find was James Ker from Kirkbean, in Kirkcudbrightshire in 1771. as you see the spelling at that time was Ker, half his family were registered Ker, and the rest were Kerr, I guess that was down to the person writing the record, but thereafter they were all Kerr. They moved from Kirkbean to Maxwelltown then Dumfries Town, where they remained up to my Grandfathers time.

If we could get back far enough, we would all be the same family though, from the Borders.

James.

Hey, we Australian lot are all related to someone from somewhere else, to be sure.

I would like some information on this Thomas and the Sandert line, though. I've run out of other folk to research.
