Norfolk Walloons
« on: Saturday 25 April 09 08:23 BST (UK) »
I have Vertigans in my family tree in Norfolk and would like to know if they are descended from Walloons.

On the IGI site there is a Jacques Verteghans  baptism 7 Jul 1616  Walloon  Norwich Norfolk. The father is Guillaume Verteghans.

My Great Great Grandmother was Sarah Ann Vertigans, i research the Vertigan and its variants with the Guild of One Name Studies. I believe the surname is Walloon and have some details of 'French' Verteghans.
