Young - Wormingford
« on: Thursday 07 May 09 20:47 BST (UK) »
Hello - I almost put this in the look-up requests but thought I would ask here first, maybe the moderator will transfer it?
Simple request, I have Henry Young who says in later census that he was born what looks pretty clear to be Wormingford.

Date of birth is around 1843, not sure where that would be registered.  He also has a middle name of Seville, and as he names his first son Henry Brewis Young, the middle name is his mothers maiden name, I wondered if Seville is a maiden name also.  Can anyone confirm these families to be in the area?   Without the middle name finding him in earlier census is hard, but I think I have him in 1851 working in service in London.

The local parish is given as place of birth but he probably wasn't about when they filled in the census, anywhere is near enough for the servants.  He married in this parish and became a vicar, it could be Wormingford was just a parish where he was employed.  cheers fred

Tati - Brilliant!  it's so easy with a common name to go off in the wrong direction, I'll go back and check again, I seem to have missed something.  Cheers fred

Hey tati if you like a mystery take a look at the Lancashire board, "Brewis and Van Worrall"

What you have found must be right as Henry Young does well in the clergy.  thanks again  fred
