Re: Richard Darby, born 1821

Hello, Richard Darby (born 1821 in Sturry, Kent) is my great great grandfather.

I have found him, his wife Sophia (nee Spain) and children (Henry, Pleasant, Jane, Richard, Elizabeth, Sarah Ann, Thomas, William, John, Frederick and Elizabeth Emily) living at various addresses in Ramsgate from the census of 1841 - 1881.

Their son Richard Benjamin Darby (born 1848 in Ramsgate) is my great grandfather.
Richard Bemjamin Darby and his wife Frances (nee Strevens) lived in Broadstairs with their children (William, Henry, Edith, Frances, Charles, Grace and Ernest).
Ernest Darby was my grandfather.

I can trace back further from Sophia Spain (born 1823, Ramsgate) and from Frances Strevens (born 1853, Broadstairs) but like you am unable to find out the parents of Richard Darby (born 1821).

Any other info would be much appreciated, thanks, Lisa.

Hi - it's quite some time since this thread began, but if anyone interested in this 'Darby' family tree I have now traced back to 1617.

Best Wishes,  Lisa (nee Darby)
