Need Help Please

Hi,

 Don't know if this is the right board for this but I have just received a photo and it is in a strange format that my computer won't accept.

Does anyone know how I can change it into a jpeg ? The format that was sent to me was - winmail.dat 

Can anyone suggest anything ?

 Thank you for your reply. I did try that and it came out garbled. I think there was something wrong with the file before it was sent to me and not the program you gave.

 The program worked great and easy, so I think it is the original file that has the problem.

Dat files are, literally, just about anything. The best thing you could do is get in contact with the person who sent it to you and ask what program they used to make it. Having said that, winmail.dat files are usually what you end up with when you're using a mail client which can't handle rtf files - the file gets sent as an rtf but ends up as a dat. Outlook should be able to open those without too much problem. Or, once again, contact the sender and ask them to send in another format.

Snail mail was much easier, if a little slower, don't you think?

  Thank you , I think I will have to contact them, I was just so excited that they had sent me something on the family that I was trying to avoid troubling them further. But it seems I am going to have to
