1841 and 1851 Census look up please - Shipman COMPLETED THANKS!
« on: Sunday 10 May 09 20:34 BST (UK) »
Could someone please do 1841 and 1851 Census look ups for me please?

William Shipman born abt 1824 Hinckley and his wife Ann (not sure of her birthdate).

Need to know the usual - children and occupation etc.

Also same name but different area please - William Shipman and his wife Mary . Think these are  living in Leicester as they were married at St Margarets. Not got any dates for these . Im more confident that the others are more likely to be my ancestors! :-\

Thanks Niglor

Thanks Mike!

Im still not there tho!!!  Perhaps the answer lies in the 1841 census with him on??

Let me explain -  My gt gt gt grandmother was a Shipman and Ive been unable to find out  her parents names- you have looked for me before I think?! I now have this William Shipman born 1835 living in what I think is the same street as her and her husband (according to the 1881 census) so Im thinking this could be her brother?? Too much of a coincidence Im thinking.

Hope you can end this mystery for me once and for all ;D

Niglor

Wondering why in 1851 he and a brother are living with this lady who I presume is their grandmother? Had their parents died ?

Thanks Mike !

Still no sign of Mary Ann born 1838 then? 1881 census has her as being born in Leics (that could be anywhere!) She is married to James Cure.

Just seems strange that another Shipman was living at no 1, Rugby Road, Rugby Yard Hinckley and Mary and her hubby were at Cork Hole,Rugby Road. Im sure that they are related somehow!!

I will keep all his details anyway and hopefully one day will be able to sort the Shipmans out!!
