1861
RG9 17 28 57

19 Queens Gate, Kensington

a large houshold, Head seems to be John Fleming, an east India Merchant. Has family, visitors, full complement of staff (footmen, maids etc)
then, as a separate household within the same address is:

William Hodgkins housekeeper 24 carpenter bn Priors Marston
Harriett wife 23 bn Abington Berks
Robert 4 son bn Oxford
Kate Louise 2 bn Kensington
Sarah Fox 27 housemaid

The 'housekeeper' bit is strange! If he is a carpenter ...
He is not described as 'Head', as if a separate household.

I dont think it is the same William Hodgkins

So all I relly have is born 1837 birmingham

death 1886 Coventry age 49

also have him possibly bording with a family in coventry 1881

Jackson Josiah head 48 bicyle maker
Jackson Emma wife 44
Jackson Leonard 19
Jackson Clara 17
Jackson Rosina 15
Hodgkins William Border married 42 driller

all born birmingham

its a pity but I dont think the family you found me links to the William Hodgkins buried in Coventry
Thanks for trying  ;D

So he wasnt christened Priors Marston then?

Lets take it a step at a time!

If he is your 3 x grt grandad, then what do you know about the child who is your 2 x grandparent. Lets work back to William from there. Who is the mother of this person(Williams wife) ? Have you got them on any censuses?

So where did the info about where he was born come from?

Do you have him on a census with the son/dtr who is your 2x grt grandparent?
