What is her name, please, and what is the full census reference?
Is it her marital status you can't make out?
The occupation is tobacconist.

Looking at the other entries on the page, I say it says "Mar", implying that her husband is still alive but not at home on the night of the census.

Yes, I also think it's
'Mar'
. There is a stroke through it which is a bit misleading.

Do you know what his occupation was? Could it have taken him away from home? And do you know for certain that the children were his?

well, in 51 he was a pawnbroker, but i met a distant relative on ancestry who thinks he might have been a sailor, which would make sence

Mamakaz, as you have started a new thread on this same subject I think it might be a good idea to lock this one, otherwise you might find people are doing duplicate look-ups for you.
