hello,im trying to establish the relationship between reuben and richard barton.ive got reuben as far back as 1861,born 1841, on a travelling fair in deal,kent.richard born c1833 is living in tents with his family in thanet on 1861.on the 1871 they are together in canterbury.i can find nothing pre-1861.i suspect they are brothers but need to find them earlier if im to stand a chance of establishing  this.any help much appreciated,nel.

I don't think it would be them- there is a baptism for Reuben on Family Search- mother Alice.

Nel, I know when we were searching for a travelling family in Kent a while ago- we couldn't find them pre-1861. Not sure whether it was compulsory or not

There is a marriage on Free BMD for Reuben Barton- possible spouse Anne Wood in 1869. In 1871 Ruben and Ann have a Henry Wood living with them which supports the marriage (hopefully).
This would give you a father for Reuben.
