Library and Archives Canada has a searchable by name database with images of the 1881 and 1891 Canada census. Here are the links:

Thank you Jaquie, that's brilliant, just found Mary Ann in 1891 - can't be sure of Charles no middle name and sadly he wasn't with them. :)

Hi Irret,

You may want to check out the 1901 & 1911 censuses as well. I think they are also on the National Archives site Jaquie gave u the links to. If not, the 1901, 1906, and 1911 Canadian censuses have been transcribed and searchable on the www.automatedgenealogy.com site.

The canadian passenger lists are on the Canadian Archives site as well, but thay are not searchable...you need to go thru the films 1 by 1. Another way to find someone on the passenger lists is to go to www.findmypast.com site and do a free search for your rellies and once you find them to can search on the National Archives images to locate and get the list image (findmypast charges to look and get the image).

Hope this helps,
