(Completed; thanks to Geoff)Marriage look up for Robert Wilkinson
« on: Thursday 21 May 09 15:02 BST (UK) »
Hello all,

I am trying to find the marriage between Robert Wilkinson (c1801 - 1849) and Anne (born c1803 in Bottesford or Holme, Lincolnshire).

The 1841 census shows both Robert and Anne born in county; Lincolnshire.

They were in Burringham from 1841 to 1871; I believe Robert died in 1849 so he is probably still there!

Martin.

Having looked at a map to see where Holme is, perhaps the marriage at Messingham 4 Jan 1821, Robert WILKINSON to Ann EVERATT is relevant.

In fact, if you look at the IGI Batch C030201 (Messingham) you will find the baptisms of Elizabeth, Christopher and Jane there :)
Don't cry because its over. Smile because it happened.

Thanks Geoff,

This marriage looks good.  Geographically the village, township (or whatever it was) of Messingham is between Holme and Burringham.

I had already found these three siblings on IGI and the other two, Martha and Rebecca also on IGI C034881 baptised on the same day.  Their ages on later census records look similar, maybe they were twins.

Curious point Althorpe is on the west bank of the Trent, directly opposite Burringham.  I suppose it would not be unreasonable for boats to ply back and forth, whereas nowadays people just drive round.

Anyway, next step must try to find Robert Wilkinson's birth.

Regards
Martin
