James Kelly marriage
« on: Tuesday 26 May 09 16:51 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for any information on a marriage in November 1857 in Armagh between James Kelly and Margaret Wright. James was born 1819 and this was his second marriage. Any help would be much appreciated. :)

Am so happy I contacted majortom.  Almost didn't thinking there must be lots of James Kellys in Armagh.  Well, it turns out we are both descended from common ancestors  ;D ;D
So thanks to rootschat  :-* I've found another cousin, he in Scotland, me in Oz but related anyway.
Yippee!!

Hi there
Sorry, i don't know a great deal about my g/g/grandfather other than he was a flax worker and married to Mary Brown. His son James was a land drainer and came to Scotland but I have no knowledge of any connection to boat building.

do you know what part of Scotland the moved to  my Kelly's  moved to  Ayrshire also there a reference to Almonkland beside Coatbridge , looking at the  notes yet again this is where they may have worked in a ship yard. but going further back  there a reference to the Irish Kelly's being farmers

and the  names James and Margert appear to run though the Kelly's family there was a 2ND marriage and  I think 5 children from one marriage and 3 step brothers

the notes I have  from my aunt and uncle are a bit confusing . Having just received a box full of family photos and letter  today I am still  trying  to sort them all out may be when I get to gether with my cousin next month  we may be able to  have a better understanding of  the links and I will get back to you

 thanks for your time
