Slatter Family from Battle
« on: Friday 29 May 09 22:51 BST (UK) »
Hi there

This is an enquiry e-mail from Barbara H. Terry

I have been researching the Slatter family from Battle, England.  I know the line that I have from Silvester Hayward Slatter who married Emma Drake is in tact.  But his Uncle James Slatter, that came to Forest Lake, Susquehanna County,  Pennsylavania Is not complete.  Is anyone researching the name Slatter?

I am in New York State, USA

Thank you,

Chris in 1066

I have some scanty information re Thomas Slatter born abt 1716 who married Jane Oliver.  Their children all born in Battle (except we dont know about Elizabeth) included :
Ann born abt 1737
William born abt 1738
Thomas born abt 1739
Sarah born abt 1740 in Battle (died 1821)
George born abt 1742
Elizabeth (no approx year of birth nor knowledge of place of birth)

The daughter Sarah married Thomas Alderton of Battle who was buried in Battle in 1791.  She was his only wife.

If somebody pm's me an email address I can send a tiny bit of research about these Slatters, but I know nothing about Silvester, and am not currently researching the Slatters.

Dear One Big Family,

As a Slatter, descended from Thomas you mention in your mail, I'd be fascinated by any research / information you'd be able to pass on to me. I knew he was married to a Jane from old documents my family left for me - but I did not know her surname was Oliver. Any further details you may have on either Thomas, Jane or their children would be very much appreciated.

Thanks very much

Mick Slatter

Hi Mick,

Welcome to Rootschat.

I believe you will need to make at least a couple more postings before you can receive personal messages ('PM's).

So hopefully if you replied to a couple of questions, that would open the gate...

Which son of Thomas Alderton and Jane are you descended from?

Hi Mick,

Have sent you a personal message but you probably wont be able to receive it until you have either added a couple more queries or added a couple of replies to this post.

regards,
