1911 Census is online - you have to pay to view it - a search produces Sidney Herbert Candy aged 12 in Romford - might be worth you looking but I guess he's too young to have an occupation as a commercial traveller!

Hi James

Thanks for visiting the London & Middlesex boards.

I see from your profile that you haven't been a member for very long and haven't really made a lot of requests.

However when you do, and they contain information from another topic, please copy and paste the URL from the top of the screen so that the other chatters can refer to it. It does save a lot of duplication of effort.

It may be worth your while, if you don't have a personal subscription to Ancestry at home, to visit a local library and see if they have access to 'Ancestry Library Edition' there. You can then have a go at your own census look-ups (1841-1901) and also make your way through the England & Wales birth, marriage and death indexes.

As a general tip we don't encourage look-ups for events that have taken place with about 70 years.

We are also not allowed to accept requests for 1911 census look-ups for many licensing and copyright reasons. The guidelines are here

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,355485.0.html

We all have to pay to view the 1911 census at www.findmypast.com

However if you can make a trip to the National Archives at Kew you can get free 1911 look-us. They have 60 dedicated terminals; when you arrive, book an hour's session. When that hour is up, book another session and so on. You will also find the 1841-1901 census on computer there but in a different part of the reading room.

Hope this helps.

As Dawn explained. For 1911 you would have to purchase your own census images/transcripts.
