Hi,
The Baptism registers up to 1916 are held at the Wilts Archives in Chippenham; after that they are still at the church.
The Burials registers up to 1889 are also at the Archives; after that they are still at the church.
I had a conversation with the Rector some 2 years ago and asked why the completed Registers after the above dates had not been sent to the Archives. He told me that he is only obliged by law to send the completed Marriage Registers to the Archives and that if I wanted to see the ones held at the Church, there was a fee of £45 per hour to search them because either he or the Church Warden have to be present during the search and you have to pay for their time. He went on to say that he considers the registers to be church property as they have to buy the registers in the first place!
If you send me a personal message I can give you the telephone number of the Church Warden if you are going to visit so that you can make arrangements in advance to meet at the church.
I may be going myself in the next month (or so). If it is not possible for you to visit, I could do a look up for you when I am there, but can't at this point say exactly when that will be.
