Thanks for your efforts but it seems now that Emma was not married as I have now found :-

Baptism register. born Latchingdon
   28/2/1869 Mary Ann daughter of Emma Wilson of Latchingdon illegitimate.
   (No mention of a fathers name)


Marriage register
23/10/1869  Samuel Ruse 22 Bachelor Labourer Latchingdon father William Ruse
to Emma Wilson 19 Singlewoman Latchingdon father William Wilson

Don't think I can honestly claim Samuel as her father from the above information even if  she did use the name Ruse at some point but not on her MC
Emma and Samuel may have been living close to each other in 1861 but even then it is a long shot.

That looks the same family to me.........Rha being short for Rhoda

Samuel might just be worth chasing in 1861 then through to 1871 just to see who he is with and where he is and if Emma is around in 1861?
