Sarah NEEL/NEAL(E) Baptism Great Marlow ca. 1697

Hello,

Can someone find the baptism of Sarah Neel/Neal(e) in Great Marlow in about 1697 please? She married in Lewknor Oxfordshire in 1721 when she was of Great Marlow Parish

The only Sarah Neele baptism I can see in the All Saints Great Marlow PRs is far too early - 27 Aug 1669 d/o William & Sarah.

Moving nearer to 1697 - there are 3 baptisms, all children of Thomas & Sarah:

April 7 1689 Elizabeth
March 19 1692/3 Thomas
April 5 1696 Margaret

This couple could possibly be your Sarah's parents - you'd expect them to call a daughter Sarah after her mother. It's possible, if she was their first child, that she was born and baptised wherever the mother came from. It might help to find Thomas & sarah's marriage?

Sorry to ask again Jill, but I need some help with another branch of my family...

Known Children of ROBERT BLICK and ELIZABETH NEWELL are:
2.   i.   ZACHARIAH² BLICK, b. 1777, Great Marlow, Buckinghamshire; d. 1853.
   ii.   ELIZABETH BLICK, b. 1780, Great Marlow, Buckinghamshire (Source: 1861 Census.).
3.   iii.   AVIS BLICK, b. 1784, Great Marlow, Buckinghamshire; d. 05 Sep 1854, Lane End, Buckinghamshire.

Would it be possible to check if there are baptisms at Great Marlow for these three ? I think there is a possibility they are from Fingest, though. If so I have a friend with the Fingest Parish Registers.

Nothing at All Saints, Great Marlow, I'm afraid.

I have Fingest PRs on an Oxon FHS CD. I found:

Are the Great Marlow/Fingest PR's searchable Jill?
If so would it be ok to search for burials of Robert and his wife Elizabeth? I have the burials of Zachariah and his siblings:

Burial    5 Oct 1853   Zachariah BLICK aged 76 of Church Houses, died 30 Sep
Burial    9 Sep 1854  Aves ELLIS aged 70 widow of Styles of Lane End, died 5 Sep, see No 60
Burial    8 Oct 1861   Elizabeth BLICK aged 82 of Lane End

From the Fingest PRs:

buried Dec 8 1778 Robert Blick parish clerk age 94 yrs
buried Jan 27 1780 Elizabeth Blick
buried Sept 20 1810 Robert Blick
buried Aug 1 1830 Robert Blick- Lane End

There are no other burials in Fingest for an Elizabeth Blick, and the above 1780 burial is obviously too early. However, for what it's worth, there is a burial for an Elizabeth Blake Dec 21 1815 aged 63 of Great Marlow. Could be her?!

Thanks alot Jill!!! I am going to buy the CD from the OFHS which includes Fingest, Stokenchurch, Nettlebed etc... These parishes have alot of people I'd like to find. I'd also like to find the parentage of Robert Blick. All I know is he married Elizabeth Newell in 1776 at Great Marlow. It looks like he was probably the son and grandson of a Robert too. I think he was born in 1754. I don't know where I got that from, though. There is a Robert Blick 1744 in Hughenden but I am not sure. I have only the IGI for help. Do you have the Great Marlow Registers on fiche?

The Elizabeth Blake is Elizabeth Blick.

I've got Great Marlow baptisms and burials in booklets (available from the Eureka Partnership) and marriages on fiche. The fiche are obviously better than nothing but you have to wait until you go to the RO or library to use a fiche reader - a bit of a pain!!

There's a Robert Blick baptised Feb 4 1744/5 in Fingest s/o Robert, labourer & Sarah. Could he be yours - or is he too early?
