If he was an Anglican clergyman he should be in Crockford with list of all  the parishes where he was vicar/ rector.

Hi Malcolm

I know you posted this some time ago but have just came across it.

Catherine Morgan b26 Apr 1815 Canterbury, Kent, England.

She married Rev Harcourt 5 Jan 1850, at the parish Church of Killinkere, Co Cavan, Ireland.
Re the IGI + records of their marriage in Dec 1849, they may have had both a civil and religious ceremony????

Catherine was the daughter of John and Mary Morgan nee Glancy. John was from Bailieborough, Co Cavan, Ireland, and joined the British army in 1807. He was stationed at various posts throughout  Europe (incl Canada) in his 30 yr service, and their children were born at various places. At this stage I have no information of Mary's birthplace.

Information sourced from John's service record, as well as research by family members.

Catherine's youngest brother Richard was my gggrandfather, who migrated to Australia in 1853.

Hi Ashe,

I'm heading out on a limb here, as the research I'm doing for Captain John Morgan (1785) - gr888 grandfather. I've been attempting to source his Army Service Record - mostly from FindMyPast, without success. I'm happy to pay for the records, but I am struggling to narrow down the births of his children with Mary Glancy - descending from:

John Morgan 1805 (Born in Canada, in the Navy) m. Sara Gibbin
Richard Francis Morgan 1830 (migrated to Aust. 1853) m. Jane Burns
Richard Francis Morgan 1869 m. Mary Ann Bowman
John Morgan 1902 (migrated back to England 1920's) m. Jane Weir Clark, and
Richard Francis Morgan 1933 (England)

Just wondering if you might point me in the right direction - as I'm doing my research from Australia, and unable to find anything concrete.

Thanks - in advance,
regards
Meg
