Burial records Newcastle upon tyne
« on: Saturday 13 June 09 21:37 BST (UK) »
Please can anyone tell me of anywhere I can search for burial/cremation records in Newcastle On Tyne? I am trying to find if my father was buried or cremated and where. I have tried to contact my mother but she got her solicitor to set an injuction order on me preventing me from attempting to contact her. I know my father died in september 2004 but I have no idea if he was buried or cremated. In manchester, on the city council web site there is a page to look up burial records, is there anything like this for newcastle? Any information would be much appreciated

Hi and welcome to rootschat.
Have a look at the Northumberland Resources board and also a quick Google will help you.   However, Rootschat does not encourage discussion of either living, or recently deceased people so please do not give any further details in your public posts.  We have a personal message system which you will be able to use after you have made another post, so if anyone is able to help you they can be contacted with more details privately.
Regards
Andrea

My maternal grandfather (1893 - 1959) is buried in a Newcastle cemetery and I found the Newcastle City Council website useful. I contacted the council and they were more than helpful in my quest to find my grandfathers grave even offering to meet me in person. Check out the bereavement service.

Here is a link to the page you might find useful.

I hope it is of some use to you.

Hi Clair ,
My grandfather died in October 1945 I knew he was buried in Heaton Cemetery and I wrote to the Library at Newcastle they came back with his plot and grave number even told me there was no head stone .I got quite a bit from them for just £5.00

I was even told to contact someone by telephone ( they gave me the number to phone )who would take me to the grave side .Saying that I have yet to go
