Baker/Forrester
« on: Sunday 14 June 09 12:15 BST (UK) »
I am seeking information regarding the family of my great grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Baker Wilkinson.  Mary was born in Wicklow.  Her sister, Mary Jane was born 20 November 1872 in County Dublin.  Her parents were listed as James Baker and Charlotte Forrester.  My great grandmother was born in 1874 in Wicklow...so they obviously left Dublin...Anybody with info regarding this family????

Have moved your post to Ireland-General board as it seems to cover both Co. Dublin and Co. Wicklow.

The births of both girls are shown as extracted records from civil registration of births in IGI (www.familysearch.org). Dublin and Wicklow are adjoining counties and it may be that the family didn't move very far or at all (perhaps one child born at grandparents' house, for example). Their birth certificates would list the exact place of birth.
See index to get details need to order the certificates:
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=collectionDetails;t=searchable;c=1408347
With details (name, year/quarter, registration district, volume and page number) you can order the certificates but do NOT mention your source (LDS) or they may reject your application:

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
