Hello Chris,

Not related, but every time I see an 'abt' regarding a bmd I feel I need to help.

FYI below is from the website ,www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk    - it's a pay per view.  Free to register and do basic searches - but to view you have to pay.  A search from 1885 to 1895 brings up only one couple with those names.  Cost 20p.   To download the full entry to your PC costs a further £1.00.

1890 CAMERON DONALD MARTIN MARY PORTREE /INVERNESS 114/01 0002

On SP, £6.00 will buy 30 credits which allows for the download of 5 bmds or census rercords (copies - not transcripts).  The couples marriage record will give both parents names and allow you to get a generation back

You may want to advise others who want to help if you have them on the 1901 census and if you have the death entries for Donald or Mary.

Good luck with your searching.  Regards,   Steve .

Hi Steve

Wow that was quick and it was my first posting ever on this site! Thanks for your assistance.
I have all this couples ancestors so I didnt actually search for their marriage. Guess I should get it for the record any way.
Scotlands people is the most wonderful web site and so reasonably priced. I am a "regular user" and just love it.
Much appreciated-maybe Ill post a few more for you!

Regards
Chris
