BEESON, PARFITT - Aldenham
« on: Sunday 21 June 09 19:33 BST (UK) »
Hello all,
Does anyone have any information on Sarah Beeson (died April 28 1864, aged 68), wife of John Beeson (died Aug 4 1869) both buried in Aldenham, Herts.

She was also the sister of James Loadly Parfitt, and possibly of Isaac Parfitt.

Isaac is my GGGG grandfather. He went out to Barbados and remained there for many years but returned to the UK and died here - where is unknown at present - in 1831. I'm searching for a link and know he left money in his will to the above named, Sarah and also to James Loadly Parfitt.

Thanks for anything,

Brian

Thank you very much for that. It may be the clue I need, as up to now, Isaac Parfitt has been a perfect mystery.

 Hi Brian

Do you actually live in hertfordshire/ near Aldenham? What a  family i have found them in 1841, 1851 and 1861. I imagine they would have a big headstone, i lived in Aldenham for twenty three years and spent many an hour in the grave yard looking at the graves. Hello Jackie,
Thank you very much for that, very kind of you to offer, but I actually drove over to Aldenham only yesterday. Sweet village. I found Sarah and John's tombstone near the east end of the church.

I'm actually after HER family, the Parfitts, as her brother, Isaac Parfitt is my GGGG grandfather. As I said in my first entry on this subject, I have no idea where he was from or where in the UK he died, but the info given me on this site is now pointing to Holborn in London, though Parfitt does seem to be a West Country name originally. But one step at a time, eh?

By the way, do you assume that smith former means that is what his surname used to be or his job?

Thanks again
Brian

Hello Brian,
I'm new to this site, and this is my first comment.
Sarah Beeson nee Parfitt is my GGG Grandmother
I've looked at the other comments you have received and hope I can help.
John Beeson was a blacksmith and farmer living at Round Bush Aldenham, he was also registar of births and deaths for Aldenham and Bushey
The Parfitt name has filtered down through the generations, their daughters were Letitia Elizabeth Parfitt Beeson born 1829 in Aldenham, and Ellen Parfitt Beeson born 1832,  their brother Henry Alpheus Beeson is my GG Grandfather.
I hope I've been of some help and hope to pick your brains from time to time as I dig deeper
regards
Paul
