Dentists

I wonder if there is such a thing as a lists of Dentist in Glouceteshire in 1920-1945. I am looking for info re my grandfather who was  a dentist in Gloucetershire. I cannot find his birth info, so thought I would try looking for practicing dentists during this time.
He and his family lived at Clyde house Edgar Street Hereford where he practiced dentisty,but I cannot find any occupations listed for these dates.

Isn't Hereford in Herefordshire?  What about trying local phone books?

Thanks for your answer but this was long ago, and any record would not be in the telephone books.

I didn't mean modern phone books.  The local library or archives would have phone books and trade directories going back a long way.
