**COMPLETED** Marriage approx 1900
« on: Friday 03 July 09 18:19 BST (UK) »
Hi, could someone look up a marriage for me please. Probably in Ystradyfodwg (but not 100% sure):

Approx 1900, William John Lewis married Celian ?????? - I'm not convinced her first name is correct but it appears on the 1901 and 1911 censuses as this, so who am I to argue  :)

(1901 census Celian Lewis - Class: RG13; Piece: 5016; Folio: 13; Page: 15)

Hi

Sometimes less info gets better results

When there is a "strange" name that could be spelt numerous ways - I just search on the other partners name

I searched freebmd just using William John Lewis and chose 1898-March qtr 1901 as the period and did not select a search county

From the matches - I just chose those in Wales and clicked on each page to find the spouse names

I DON'T HAVE A LOT OF INFO RE YOUR GRANDFATHER. MY MOTHER HAS BEEN DEAD FOR 33 YEARS. AND I THINK UNCLE TOM PASSED AWAY EITHER BEFORE I WAS BORN OR NOT LONG AFTER. I KNEW MY MOTHER'S YOUNGER SIBLINGS QUITE WELL NB MY MOTHER WAS 41 WHEN I WAS BORN. I WOULD LOVE ANY INFO RE THE HOPKINS SIDE AND WILL GIVE YOU ANY INFO RE MY GRANDFATHER. I THINK HE WON A MEDAL FOR RESCUE WORK IN THE 1913 SENHENHYDD MINE DISASTER. I DON'T SEEM TO BE ABLE TO POST YOU A PERSONAL REPLY. THERE WERE 4 MORE CHILDREN AFTER THE 1911 CENSUS, BY THE WAY'
