Two death lookups
« on: Saturday 04 July 09 19:45 BST (UK) »
Hi All,
I wonder if anyone could find the death of Simeon Hillery 1851-1861 Wandstead Essex area. Also his first wife Sarah Hillery 1819-1827 Wandstead Essex.
Any help most appreciated.  :)

Hi

Have you checked on freebmd for Simeon

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com

If he was Thomas Simeon there's one in 1860

FreeBMD has a Thomas Simeon Hillery, D Jun 1860 West Ham 4a 22.

Wanstead is a little bit north of West Ham, but not far away.

Thanks guys, did see that one but on his sons baptism he is Simeon and on his second marriage he is Simeon. I have him on 1841-1851 census and his second wife is a widow in 1861. He was born 1791 Wandstead. I did try and find a birth for Thomas Simeon, no joy. I wonder if it is him?

It seems to be the only Hillery death in the right timeframe and West Ham is the registration district for Wanstead.

Is it worth risking £7 on the certificate to see who notified the death and what the address was? Might match up with his wife in 1861.
