Hello, I am new to this site   ??? Would anyone be able to help please in regards to a Birth and Death of a child - Grace Kenny.  My G Grandfather, John Kenny, his wife Eliza and 2 children, David and Flora sailed to Canada, Quebec 30th June 1920 on Empress of France from Scotland.  They had Grace who apparently died in a house fire?  To date I have found no record of her birth or death or any info on the fire.  My G Grandfather worked for Alabaster, Gypsum and Lyme.  Eliza returned to Scotland after 4yrs with the 2 children, divorced and my G Grandfather remarried and stayed in Canada, he died 1963.

Any help on where to look would be great.

Do you know if Eliza's maiden surname was Davis or something similar?

Her maiden name was Campbell, she was born 1884 in North Berwick, Edinburgh, Scotland, married John Kenny 4th November 1910.

Do you know where in Canada the family lived? From the incoming Canadian passenger list it looks like they were going to Toronto but I'm not sure. If they did live in Ontario, birth records that are from less than 100 years ago are protected by privacy laws. It might be possible to find a death registration if she died in Ontario but I don't see any Grace Kennys in the Ontario deaths database at Ancestry.

No, only that they sailed to Quebec and where my g grandfather worked Gypsum, Lime and Alabastine Company from September 1921, he was made a Forman about 1924 and held this position until his retirement in February 1956.

Caledonia comes up in the notes that I have if this is of any help?  Yes it appears Caledonia was were my grandad (David Kenny) lived as a boy.
