This brickwall is giving me a headache

I'm hopeful that someone can help me solve the mystery of Thomas Leightley's whereabouts.
ANN LEIGHTLEY - Thomas's daughter - is my OH's 2 x Great Grandmother and from the Census/BMD Indexes Ann was b. abt 1824 at Old Moor/Bothal, Northumberland. In 1st Q of 1845 Ann married JOHN MARSHALL at Morpeth. 1858 John dies leaving 6 children - Thomas b.abt 1845, Ann b.abt 1851, Elen? b.abt 1851, Margaret b.abt 1854, John b.abt 1857, and James b.abt 1860. The 1861 Census records Ann as resident Housekeeper to Henry and Albert Milburn at Church Row, Bedlington. Ann subsequently marries HENRY MILBURN on 28.12.1861 at St Nicholas, Newcastle - they have 2 daughters Isabella b. 30.05.1861 near Newsham (OH's g.grandmother) and Ellen b. abt 1872 Cowpen Colliery, Blyth. On the marriage record ANN's father is named as THOMAS LEIGHTLEY ..... can I find him ..... NO ..... I've searched the 1841 Census, and IGI Records ... No Luck. I have a trip to Northumberland planned for November but thats a way off and my patience/curiosity cannot be waiting that long so ............ any info, tips, guidance, suggestions whatever ... I would love to hear from you!
In anticipation, many thanks
As always ... ever hopeful
Polly
