Uninstall printer.

Hi

Can anybody please help.  I have Windows XP and a HP Officejet V45 all in one printer.  I have been having trouble with the scanner of late and want to reinstall it.

I click on all programmes  then on HP V45 printer, but it does not show a
uninstall/add to symbol. (every other program does).  Whats wrong?? Is there another way to uninstall programmes.

I am not computer literate so please' lay mans' language.

Hi Dud,
open your start menu, click on [ControlPanel] find [Add or Remove Programs] click to open, then find the printer and click on [Remove]
Do make sure you have the Install disc or can install from the internet first tho'.

The reason you cannot uninstall it in the programs list is because it is a device not a program.  If it is a USB device then you won't find it in Device Manager either.

You should find it listed under Printers and Fxes or Cameras and Scanners in Control Panel - if so you could delete it and Windows will say that it has discovered a new device next time you reboot.

It might be a better idea to state what the problem is rather than assume uninstalling/reinstalling the device will fix the problem.
