The Stag, Redhill (now Appletons)
« on: Saturday 01 May 04 14:03 BST (UK) »
Please can anyone advise how I can find out about previous owners/publicans of The Stag at Redhill.

I have no information available about the side of my family involved, all I know is:

A member of my family used to own and run the pub (probably sometime early to mid 1800's) he then sold up and spent all his money on wine, women and song.  We now have 3 handblown wineglasses which supposedly came from there.

I am hoping if I can find a list of wners I might recognise a name......?  I know this is unlikely but I have nowhere else to start and the tale intrigues me. ??? ??? ???

Thank you to anyone who may be able to help.

Hi!

It was The Stag Inn, changed to Appletons after modernising, then modernised again, and reverted back to it's original name.

If you go to the following site, it will give you the details, and phone number, they maybe able to tell you who the previous publicans were.
