Catherine Margaret BALDWIN

I was wondering if anyone could help with this mystery -
I have found a Catherine Margaret Baldwin born to a Margaret Susannah Baldwin on the 5th April 1912 - but I can not find any more info on her - no death, marriage and she is not mentioned in her mothers death notice - all the other children are(including the dec. ones)
Her mother was  Margaret Susannah Savage who married Albert Baldwin - Albert died in WA in 1907 and Margaret did not remarry (she married her dec. sister (Catherine) husband )until 1916.
Any ideas of where to look for this Catherine?

I thought it may be a South Australian birth if you had the full date.

As mother was 'between' marriages perhaps Catherine was placed for adoption.   Obviously her family didn't know about her if she wasn't listed amongst the deceased chn on the mother's death cert.

Margaret must have been quite young when she married her first husband who died in 1907...2nd marriage

Hi  Cando - Yes Margaret was only 19 when she married the first time.
I never thought about adoption - I guess there is no way to find that out is there?
Margarets  youngest daughter is still alive and she has no idea about any Catherine but she was born in 1926 - 14 years after Catherine.
I guess she will remain a mystery.

I have read somewhere, may have been for NSW though, that adoption was not legalised until c1924.  Perhaps Catherine may have been raised by another of the SAVAGE family as one of their own. 

I agree with you, she may remain a mystery.
